Where can Restylane® Be Used?
The Restylane® family of products can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines); the area just below the nose and above the upper lip; the corners of the mouth and marionette lines (the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline).
RADIESSE®
What Is RADIESSE®?
RADIESSE® is an injectable filler that adds volume to the face and hands and can correct moderate to severe lines and wrinkles around the mouth. RADIESSE® is made from calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres encased in a protective gel. This chemical formula is used to enhance the production of collagen in the areas treated. The chemicals and gel are naturally metabolized by the body over time, leaving behind tissues with greater collagen content and long-term results.
BELOTERO BALANCE®
What Is BELOTERO BALANCE®?
BELOTERO BALANCE® is a hyaluronic acid-based injectable filler that is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. It is usually injected into higher layers of the skin, which allows for a greater impact on fine lines. Because it is used on upper skin layers, it can be used on top of existing fillers that have been injected into lower skin layers.
Like other hyaluronic acid-based fillers we offer, BELOTERO BALANCE® is FDA approved to treat nasolabial folds and related areas.

Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Fillers
-
How does a hyaluronic acid filler differ from RADIESSE® or Sculptra® Aesthetic?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance produced naturally by the body to attract and retain moisture. This allows your skin to appear plump, refreshed and hydrated. Unfortunately, like so many other proteins (like collagen and elastin), hyaluronic acid levels diminish as you age. HA fillers — including JUVÉDERM®, Restylane® and BELOTERO BALANCE® — use hyaluronic acid to restore moisture and hydration, helping to provide that desired plump appearance. Alternatively, RADIESSE® and Sculptra® Aesthetic work by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production.
-
JUVÉDERM®, Restylane® and BELOTERO BALANCE® are all hyaluronic acid fillers. What’s the difference between them?
While there are many types of hyaluronic acid fillers, all have slightly different densities and thicknesses, making some more appropriate for specific facial areas and concerns than others. For instance, you would want a thicker dermal filler to fill a high-movement area like nasolabial folds (parentheses between the nose and mouth) than you would for lip volume.
The best way to determine the best filler for you is to schedule a consultation with Corpus Christi Institute of Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery. Our professionals will help guide you to the appropriate type and volume of filler.
-
How much do dermal fillers cost?
Dermal fillers are priced per unit (syringe). Therefore, the total cost of your treatment will depend on the amount of dermal filler used for your needs. You will be given an accurate cost estimate during your consultation with Corpus Christi Institute of Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery.
-
How can I prolong the length of my dermal filler injectable?
While no filler is a permanent solution, you can help prolong your injectable results by minimizing sun exposure, eating a healthy diet, staying hydrated, avoiding smoking and following a diligent at-home skin care routine.
-
Do fillers repair lines caused by repeated facial expressions?
Dermal fillers are best used to minimize static lines (permanent fine lines and wrinkles caused by the natural aging process, sun damage or unhealthy lifestyle choices). Dynamic lines (fine lines and wrinkles that develop due to repeated facial expressions and muscle movements) are best treated with injectable neuromodulators like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport® or XEOMIN®. These treatments do not affect static lines; however, they can smooth and minimize expression-causing lines, such as crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead lines.
-
Will fillers improve my skin tone?
While HA fillers restore moisture to the skin cells and RADIESSE® and Sculptra® Aesthetic increase collagen production (both of which are important to healthy skin), dermal fillers are not inherently designed to improve skin tone or irregular pigment.
If you are looking to even out your skin tone, consider skin treatments (like facials or chemical peels), microneedling (CIT), microdermabrasion, or laser skin resurfacing.
